Why do we use it in our acne programmes?

Colloidal silver is nature’s own antibiotic. It is used in Chinese medicine to fight infection, in Ayurvedic medicine to build strength and stamina, and also in Homeopathy.

Medical research has proven that silver promotes rapid healing even in the case of severe burns. In the British Medical Journal (15/12/1917 issue) J Mark Howell wrote that when taken internally, colloidal silver was found to be beneficial in restoring the potency of the Eustachian tubes, for treating pyorrhoea, tonsillitis, shingles, septicaemia, all forms of viruses and many more too numerous to list here.

The use of silver as a water-disinfecting agent actually dates back thousands of years. In Roman times silver coins were used to slow fermentation of liquids.

Commercial colloidal silver has been around since the late 1800s. Here are some of its uses before 1938 – acne, burns, eczema, impetigo, keratitis, seborrhoea conjunctivitis to name but a few.
