Nutrition and your skin
Your skin largely reflects your dietary habits.
After all, it replaces itself every four weeks, so it can reveal much about what’s going on in your body. Even chronic skin-problems like acne, rosacea and eczema, as well as excessive oiliness or dryness, may relate to poor or incorrect nutrition.
For a healthy skin, you need to nourish your body with the right combination of nutrients and make a point of giving up harmful substances.
The main ingredients to cut down on are alcohol, caffeine, sugar, salt and the various fats found in junk takeaways, processed foods, sausages, crisps and margarine.
Meanwhile, try to ensure regular intake of fruit and vegetables, wholemeal bread, olive oil and fish oil, nuts and organic meats, poultry, eggs and organic dairy products or dairy substitutes such as oat milk, goats milk, rice milk or almond milk. Just a handful of almonds will give you all your calcium needs for one day. And always remember to drink enough water.
Finally, try to take your meals in a calm, relaxed atmosphere, as this will aid your digestion.
