Why Skin Ages

As we get older, the skin gets looser, drier, thinner – and wrinkled. The epidermis (the top layer of skin) begins to wither and collapse with age as its stretchy, elastic fibres deteriorate. As we get older, our skin cells are less able to hold moisture and fine lines begin to appear.

The Importance of Water Therapy

The skin’s lack of moisture and the loss of the underlying collagen mainly cause wrinkles. Most anti-ageing products are primarily heavy, oil-based lubricants and often arouse sensitivity without actually moisturising the skin. The only real prescription for youthful skin is not oil, but water – nature’s purest ingredient. As American plastic surgeon, Dr Ralph Koehn, is quick to point out “if skin is to function as nature intended, we need to replace the water we are using”.

Skin and its care are our top priority. The benefits of water go well beyond the surface. Insufficient water, both inside and out, along with dehydration from the environment can accelerate the ageing process. We can live without food much longer than we can live without water. The human body is made of 70% water.

The Multiple Rinse Philosophy

Living and working in large cities can play havoc with your skin. Modern high rise buildings with sealed windows and a controlled temperature of about 70°F (which millions of us work in), probably have a humidity level of 50%, dry enough to suck the moisture out of our skin very efficiently. The key is water.
Using warm water on the skin thoroughly cleanses, gently exfoliates and hydrates the face. Your skin is like a plum; if it lacks water, it becomes dehydrated and turns into a wrinkled prune. But soak that prune in warm water overnight and it plumps up again.

Simple? - yes, but it works.

It is never too early to start on this routine, but it is also never too late. Skin has great powers of regeneration and responds well to this multiple rinse routine.

What does each product do?

The Sher System Anti-Ageing Rejuvenation programme produces exceptional results. Each preparation has its purpose in order to cleanse, balance, protect and replace lost moisture. This group of interactive products is comparable to preparing a great recipe, combining the best ingredients and bringing them to perfection.

Are there instructions?

The most important aspect of the programme is the water therapy routine which is explained in explicit detail in the instruction booklet that is provided with each system.

How long before I see results?

Every skin is different and much depends upon the age and the condition of the skin, as well as your general health and whether or not you are on medication. It takes at least a month for the old cells to shed and a new younger skin to appear. However, most people experience positive benefits quite soon.

What about the ingredients?

All the preparations are formulated in England, using the finest quality ingredients. All have been tested and approved under the strict supervision of a leading dermatologist.

All the ingredients are listed on the products as required by law. We use natural plant-derived ingredients wherever possible and have a fantastic eighteen-year record of success.

How long will the products last?

The Sher System is an achievement of technique and technology. The products do not run out at the same time; some products are used only once a day, some morning and evening. The products are gentle and long lasting and, once on the programme, the upkeep is extremely cost effective.

Are facials necessary when on The Sher System?

Facials are not recommended, nor are they necessary, when on the system. The warm water routine has the same effect as a facial, without being invasive, in the privacy of your own home.
