Stress and your skin
Emotions are largely reflected in the skin, and many skin disorders are rooted in emotional stress. Dermatologists attribute acne, rosacea, vitiligo and psoriasis to chemical changes brought on by stressor-elements, not only in teenage but sometimes well into the thirties.
Research scientists are widely agreed that stress is a trigger for the hormonal production of sebum - the hardening fluid that blocks skin follicles and feeds the bacteria that cause acne lesions.
Fortunately stress reduction lies within our own powers. For example, skimping on sleep, and relying on snacks and caffeine instead of proper meals, all tend to stimulate the adrenalin production that inhibits natural exfoliation.
Try to reduce your own stress by taking regular exercise, getting proper sleep, eating a balanced diet and drinking plenty of water. Stress therapy and massage may further encourage a healthier system, including a healthier skin.
